All authors of accepted abstracts who have properly registered to SCEE 2008 are encouraged to submit a full paper to SCEE 2008, not later than Friday 10.10.2008 (extended deadline).
The full paper should describe original scientific work. Although the full paper is expected to be an extension of the abstract, it can also contain new research and results not presented in the abstract.
The maximum length of the full paper is 8 pages. (Exception: for invited speakers the maximum length is 12 pages.) Full papers exceeding the maximum length will not be accepted.
All full papers, whether being presented as an invited talk, oral talk, or poster, will be treated equally in the review process of the hardcover post-conference book.
The full paper must be typset with LaTeX using the class file svmult.cls by Springer provided below.
By default, do not use MS Word or any other word processor to typeset your
full paper, as it will not be accepted. However, the SCEE 2008 Local
Organizing Committee offers to convert your MS Word full paper at a fee of
100 EUR per page of the submitted full paper. If you have any questions
regarding the conversion, please contact the SCEE 2008 secretary, Mr. Luis
Costa, via email at
scee2008 ( at ) ct.tkk.fi.
You may use any program to draw figures, but save your figures as Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) files. Then, include these EPS figures into your full paper. To generate your bibliography, you may either use LaTeX directly or use BibTeX.
We provide you below with an example template file author.tex for the full paper. Note that the full paper layout is one-column style, as required by Springer, the prospective publisher of the post-conference proceedings. Note, also, that the full paper author.tex below differs sligthly from the earlier author.tex used in the abstract submission.
Files to be downloaded:You will find below an example template and other necessary files required to generate an example full paper. You may download the required files individually by clicking each file name below:
To unpack the downloaded zipped tarball on Linux computers, write, on the command line,
The file author.tex is set to create the bibliography directly by inputing the references contained in authorref.tex. Run LaTeX twice to get the cross-references correct, i.e., type
Edit the last few lines of the file author.tex appropriately, following the instructions there, so that the reference database in authorref.bib is used. Then, to obtain the dvi file with correct cross-referencing, type the following:
You may view the typeset dvi file (the EPS figures may not appear correctly) by writing
Your full paper source and pdf files should be named so that they begin with your last name followed by the appropriate extension. For an example on the naming convention, see E-mail Submission below. For authors submitting more than one full paper, see the corresponding file naming instructions, also under E-mail Submission below.
The corresponding author, preferably the first author of the full paper,
must submit, not later than Friday 10.10.2008, an e-mail
in plain text to the SCEE 2008 secretary, Mr. Luis Costa, to the
following e-mail address:
scee2008 (at) ct.tkk.fi
Please follow the instructions below exactly for smooth processing of the submitted files.
Most importantly, the e-mail must contain the following attached files:

Authors submitting more than one full paper, please add a number (1, 2, ...), as shown below, to distinguish the different full paper files from each other and submit the different full papers separately as described above. An example for naming files:
