I have the pleasure to invite you to attend the 15th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design the leading circuits and systems meeting in Europe. The theme of the conference Circuit Paradigm in the 21st Century reflects the vital role of circuit theory and techniques not only in electrical engineering and information technology but also in many evolving areas of basic and applied research.
Over 450 papers from 35 countries in all continents were submitted. All together 292 papers were selected on the basis of a review performed by the International Scientific Committee. The approved papers are organized into 28 regular, 22 special and 6 poster sessions. In five plenary sessions, distinguished invited plenary speakers give a review of the future perspectives in their research areas: neural networks, molecular and analogic computing, analogue and digital signal processing, and tele-communication circuits. A special Belevitch lecture will be given by J. O. Scanlan in honour of Vitold Belevitch (1921-1999), one of the leading circuit theorists of the 20th
A specialist workshop called Design Automation Day will be held on Tuesday 28th August. On the same day, there will also be several tutorial short courses and lectures offered free of charge to the participants.
As previously, ECCTD01 is organized under the patronage of the European Circuit Society, ECS. The local organizer in Finland is EIS, the Society of Electronics Engineers, Finland. Other co-sponsors are IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, and IEEE Finland Section. We also want to acknowledge the generous support received; from Helsinki University of Technology, Espoo City, Academy of Finland and several Finnish enterprises listed at the end of this program.
The conference venue is the main building of Helsinki University of Technology, a masterpiece of Alvar Aalto. It is located in the city of Espoo - the high tech centre of Finland in the western part of Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Espoo is a modern city where nature is close wherever you are.
Welcome to ECCTD01. I am sure that you will enjoy your stay in Finland.
